Terms of Service
Last updated: not yet effective (draft). These terms will govern use of the KnowMe platform by professionals (operators) and the public who interact with hosted profiles and the assistant.
1. Acceptance of terms
How a user (operator or visitor) accepts these terms and who is bound. [Counsel to draft.]
2. Description of the service
What KnowMe provides: credential verification, retrieval-grounded general information with citations, a compliance guardrail engine, lead capture with a conflict pre-screen, booking, and an audit log. [Counsel to draft.]
3. Not legal advice; no attorney–client relationship
The assistant provides general information only; it does not give legal advice and no attorney–client relationship is formed by using the assistant or requesting a consultation, until a firm expressly confirms one. This mirrors the in-product disclaimers. [Counsel to finalize this critical clause.]
4. Eligibility and accounts
Operator eligibility (a verified, credentialed professional), account security, and accurate-information obligations. [Counsel to draft.]
5. Operator obligations and content responsibility
Operators are responsible for the accuracy of their credentials and the knowledge-base content they publish, and for their own professional and advertising-rules compliance (e.g., CRPC). [Counsel to draft.]
6. Acceptable use
Prohibited uses, abuse, and automated-access limits (see the rate limiting and bot protections on public endpoints). [Counsel to draft.]
7. Fees and billing
Per-seat subscription terms, billing cycle, and cancellation (where billing is enabled). [Counsel to draft.]
8. Privacy and data
Reference to the Privacy notice, Your privacy choices, and the sub-processor register. [Counsel to draft.]
9. Intellectual property
Ownership of the platform, operator content, and license grants. [Counsel to draft.]
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Service-provided-“as is” disclaimers and liability limits. [Counsel to draft.]
11. Indemnification
Operator indemnification for published content and use. [Counsel to draft.]
12. Termination
Suspension/termination conditions and the effect on data (see crypto-shred and audit retention in the Privacy notice). [Counsel to draft.]
13. Governing law and dispute resolution
Governing law, venue, and any arbitration/class-waiver terms. [Counsel to draft.]
14. Changes to these terms
How updates are made and notified. [Counsel to draft.]
15. Contact
The contact channel for legal and terms questions. [Counsel to draft.]
